My primary approach is cognitive-behavioral therapy, which is based on the premise that our thoughts are what affect our feelings, which in turn affects our behaviors or lack of action. I have been a therapist for 20 years at Catholic Charities Behavioral Health Clinic. I received a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan. During my free time, I also enjoy spending time with my dog, listening to music and podcasts, and watching sports and documentaries. Receiving my bachelor's degree in kinesiology has piqued my interest in physical wellness, and any issues or concerns that may be relevant surrounding those topics have always been of particular importance to me. Outside of work, I am very interested in diet, exercise, and other realms of physical health. Advocating for cultural competency is also significant to me, and I enjoy working with individuals and the challenges that are traditionally associated with marginalized populations. I am particularly interested in working with individuals that are seeking anger management, as well as victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse. In conjunction with providing outpatient psychotherapy services, I also co-facilitate the men’s Domestic Abuse Intervention Program (DAIP) groups that the clinic offers and conduct diagnostic assessments for individuals looking to establish ARMHS at both the Behavioral Health Clinic and Hope Community Support Program. I frequently take a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approach and also have training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). In 2015, I transitioned into the outpatient realm by providing Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS) for individuals prior to beginning my work as a psychotherapist for Catholic Charities in January 2018. I initially began working in the mental health field in 2011 when I was employed in a residential foster care setting. I earned my master’s degree in social work (MSW) from St.
